David's first stone love affair as a boy was with a turquoise ring. Being from New Mexico, this state gemstone ring was his companion for some time. During his time stationed at the US Army Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama, he worked with missile systems in the early 1970's. He would drive home on holiday to San Francisco through the southwest. The turquoise collection grew with each trip.

Amber grew up in the family  jewelry business, spending afternoons in the back room at David Porter Fine Jewelry where her mother worked. Amber is the face of Garden of Gems.

Ronnie is an artist at heart. Before becoming a Jeweler's apprentice at David Porter Jewelry, he dabbled as a welder/blacksmith, realtor, martial arts instructor, bicycle mechanic, and a sculptor.

Blais is the Head of Web Design, Ecommerce, and Marketing for DP Jewelry. In her free time you can find her admiring raw crystals, creating with makeup, or cooking. She also aspires to be one of David’s apprentices in the near future.

Ray works with DP Jewelry as a gemstone cutter and lapidarist. Ray  retired from Construction Management and has always been attracted to sparkly things.

Joan is the Senior Marketing Manager for David Porter Jewelry. She's a Filipina freelancer and blogger living in Davao City, Philippines. She loves writing, fashion, jewelries, and anything glitzy.
